Nice modern hotel in Long Island area. The staffers are nice and the rooms have a very new look which is appealing. The surrounding area is a bit industrial but some solid places are a little further out. The breakfast was edible and the exercise and pool areas were nice to see. Highly recommended.
Clean, pleasant atmosphere. The staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The breakfast is pretty good overall. Needs more veggie options with the eggs and other proteins. Also gluten free options would be helpful. I signed up for the "green" option of not having the service people in the room everyday. However, I found that they came anyway and did some of the house keeping and skipped others. IE: made one bed and not the other, took some of the dirty towels and not others and then didn't replace all that they took. Strange...
Searched for pet friendly and this hotel came up. Could not find any pet friendly info on hotel website. Called front desk. Explained I am coming to LI due to dying mother. Need hotel for me and my well behaved cocker spaniel. The guy said not pet friendly. I told him website said it was. He got rude and asked if I saw on their website. I said I couldn't find it. He was rude again. Did he not understand I am under duress right now? I told him hotel needs to notify website. He told me to do it. I told him it's not my responsibility. What a snot. I won't ever be staying there!
One elevator was being replaced, which left only one for guest and staff to use. On Sunday morning, the only elevator was not working, and my daughter who stayed there is disabled, on the seventh floor, and therefore couldn't walk down all those stairs. The staff informed me that emergency services to fix the elevator was coming and would be fixed within an hour. The staff were very apologetic about the situation.
Room seemed clean enough. The water had very little water pressure, including the toilet and shower. Staff were friendly.
Only one elevator worked and the hotel was completely full. Like 3 wedding parties and baseball playoffs and numerous other groups. It was a madhouse. Impossible to get an elevator. Housekeeping did not clean our room one of those days. Said they ran out of time trying to get the rooms cleaned of expectant guests. TV didn't work properly. Breakfast was also crazy. Too many people trying to eat and not enough tables and chairs. Would not recommend.
